    How To File Consumer Complaint Online In India?

    A complete guide for lodging consumer complaint Online in India on https://consumerhelpline.gov.in/ has been launched for lodging consumer grievances by the Department of Consumer Affairs that act as a central registry and to create awareness, advise and redress consumer grievances.

    The Consumer Coordination Council in conjunction with the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India runs the consumer online resource and empowerment center to unravel consumer complaints and grievances. In a way, it is a grievance redressal system.

    Various helplines have been launched by the Department of Consumer Affairs to make awareness, advise and redress consumer grievances and act as a central registry for lodging consumer grievances.

    Here’s the whole procedure to file a consumer complaint in India.

    Step 1: Register on the web site, consumerhelpline.gov.in by clicking on ‘New user’

    Step 2: Complainant needs to provide all the required details like name, email id, address, and phone number.

    Step 3: After completing the registration process, go on to log-in and fill in the username and password. Then go to ‘File complaint’ to file the complaint.

    Step 4: Select the complaint type i.e. regarding products, service provider, others (like you want to file a complaint against Amazon or Flipkart select online shopping and then enter brand- Amazon or Flipkart)

    Step 5: A page containing the registration form will open. You have to fill the form with necessary details of the problem or the grievances and click ‘submit’.

    Resolution of complaint:

    Complainants are expected to get the resolution within three months as per the government portal. They can also check the status of their complaint by logging on to https://consumerhelpline.gov.in/ until it’s resolved.
