The National Commission for Women was set up as a statutory body in January 1992 under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990 (Act No. 20 of 1990 of Govt.of India).
Internship Opportunity at National Commission for Women
The National Commission for Women is welcoming internship applications for law students.
Scheme A: Unpaid internship for a span of 1 month.
Scheme B: Paid internship of a span of 60 days.
Eligibility Criteria
Scheme A: 1st-year students of 3 years L.L.B. course or 3rd-year student of 5 years course that is B.A. LLB Course or Post Graduate in Sociology or in 1st year of Social Work.
Scheme B: Students of 2nd year of 3 years L.L.B. Course/ 4th/ 5th year B.A. L.L.B./ B.B.A. L.L.B./ B.Sc. L.L.B. Courses/ 2nd Year Post Graduate Sociology/ Social Work/ Gender Issue/ Women Studies/ Gender Studies/Student of L.L.M./ M.Phil/ Ph.D/ Ph.D Scholars.
Stipend
Scheme B: Rs. 15,000/-
The interns will be chosen on the following basis
Scheme A: First come first serve basis subject to fulfilling the eligibility requirements.
Scheme B: 50% weightage for the percentage obtained during the last two years and 50% weightage for the quality of the ‘Statement of Purpose’ uploaded as a component of the application.
